The Indian Cultural Society began in 1979 with former Master of the Northern Territory Court, Narendra Patel, as its founding president. At that time, there was only about 20 members. Today, there are more than 130 members, reflecting the steady growth in the population of people with Indian origin living in the Northern Territory, and a desire for more people to share in Indian culture and the Societyâ€™s activities
